Viewing a Section Merge Layer
Super-sections are continuous linear merges of adjoining Sections without any junctions or loops. When you have created Section Merge Rules for a Network, you can view the resulting Section Merge Layer on the Explorer map. You can see details of the Super-section in the Section’s item information.
To view a Section Merge Layer on the map
- In Explorer select the Network that the Section Merge is based on.
- Select the Section Merge Layer in Explorer > Layers > Overlay.
The Layer consists of Sections that are grouped into Super-sections. The Super-sections are coloured within the Layer such that nearby Super-sections have different colours. The Layer is not a Network in its own right. Rather, it is used to indicate which Sections form Super-sections and the order and direction of each Section within the Super-section. At Interaction level you select a Section rather than a Super-section.
To view information about a Section and the Super-section that it belongs to
- In Explorer select the Network that the Section Merge is based on.
Select the Section Merge Layer in Explorer > Layers > Overlay.
- Navigate to and select the required Section at Interaction level. A call-out is displayed. This call-out identifies the Super-section item.
- Click on the call-out, and click the Information icon. The Section Information window opens. It has two tabs: Section Information and Item Information. The Item Information page provides information about the Super-section.
