Explorer Overview
In Explorer, your Network is visible as an interactive map. All of the data that you have in your various data sources is associated with the Sections that comprise your Network. The data is all accessible in a highly visual way via the map.
Access to some Explorer features may be limited by licence or Administrator designation. See Setting User Permissions
You can view your Network on the map and zoom into areas and items of interest. You can select the data that you want to see overlaid on the map in data layers. You can see information associated with selected Sections and items. You can search for addresses, Sections, and data items.
Explore the map navigation and controls
Horizons is highly interactive. There are no deep menus. Functionality is often indicated by hovering over the items and controls on screen. We recommend that you explore the map and controls as you would explore Google Maps.
Understand Layers
Networks and data are available to view on the map as Layers. You can only select one network Layer. Then you can overlay up to six Layers of data.
Select your Network
Select the Network of interest. You can see Network-level reports and data.
Select the data to see
Select the data Layers for the selected Network or Section.
Navigate to the area or item of interest
You can see data at Network level, but you can interact with the data more fully at Interaction level.
Interact with the data
At Interaction Level, Sections are interactive. You can then access item-specific graphing, imagery, and reports.
View reports
You can view reports about your data in Explorer and export them for use in another software tool. Each data Layer is linked to one or more reports.
View graphing data
You can see how the condition of assets varies over a Section in a graph below the map. The graph shows the selected graphing data graphed against the Section’s length. You can compare multiple condition measures.
View imagery
You can view Imagery for a Section in Explorer view. You can also view the available images on a bigger scale and access more imagery functionality by going into the Imagery module.
