Sharing Layers

Sharing a Layer

If User Access Control is enabled, a Layer that is created in Horizons is only visible to the owner—the creator of the Layer. For the Layer to be visible to other users, you can share the Layer with a User Group. Sharing a Layer enables another user to view your data source and build a new Layer based on it.

The Layer and the underlying data source are shared. Only you (and an administrator) can edit, delete, rename, and move a shared Layer that you created.

You can also build a Layer that is based on a data source that another user has shared with a group that you belong to.

Note

If User Access Control is not enabled, a Layer that you create is visible to and editable by all users.
