Naming Conventions

Video Naming Conventions and File Structure

Each collection of frames is referred to as a Take. Each Take is usually representative of a set of frames collected (by all cameras) sequentially during a single capture pass. The files associated with each Take are placed into the following folder structure:

.\yyyymmdd\hhmm\A_yyyymmdd_hhmm_c<cam_id>.avi

.\yyyymmdd\hhmm\A_yyyymmdd_hhmm_take.loc

.\yyyymmdd\hhmm\A_yyyymmdd_hhmm_take.syn

Where:

yyyymmdd is the date of capture in year month day format

hhmm is the time of capture in hours minutes format

cam_id is a two digit camera id

.avi is the video imagery container for the take

.loc is the location data file

.syn is the synchronisation file
