Overview

Discover what Asset Strategy can do for you​

The application is organised into four areas. Explorer and Analysis Config let you visualise your network and configure the models that drive planning. Analysis Tools is where those models come together to produce costed, multi-year works plans. Management sits underneath everything, keeping your data and users in order.

Together, they take you from raw survey data to a defensible maintenance strategy.

Explorer​

Use Explorer to browse and visualise your asset network on an interactive map:

  • Pan, zoom and search the map by street address, Section or coordinates.

  • Display your network and asset data as map Layers with customisable colour styles.

  • Generate and export formatted Reports on network data and statistics.

  • Select individual asset Sections to view their condition data, imagery and reports.

  • Plot condition survey data along a Section length with the Graphing panel.

  • View captured Imagery for individual Sections, including video stills and high-res surface scans.

Useful for

Getting a spatial overview of your network, spotting problems and sharing data with stakeholders.

Analysis Config​

Use Analysis Config to model asset deterioration:

  • Organise assets into Asset Groups based on shared characteristics (e.g. road class, surface type, traffic load).

  • Define Condition Parameters and build deterioration curves that predict future asset condition over time.

  • Set Priorities using spatial datasets (e.g. accident rates, flood risk, traffic volumes) to focus Treatments at critical locations.

  • Configure Strategies with yearly targets for emission caps, condition thresholds and backlog reduction.

Useful for

Understanding how your network degrades and setting maintenance targets.

Analysis Tools​

Use the Analysis Tools to define treatments, trigger rules and budgets for works plans:

  • Build a Treatments library specifying costs, emission outputs and the effect each Treatment has on asset condition.

  • Group treatments into Treatment Sets with severity bands and trigger rules that determine when each Treatment applies.

  • Set annual Budgets with inflation rates. Use Sub-budgets to reserve funds for specific Treatments or areas.

  • Generate multi-year Works Plans that model different maintenance scenarios (e.g. worst-first, asset sweating) and recommend the most cost-effective approach.

Useful for

Producing maintenance plans that compare long-term costs and condition impacts for different scenarios.

Management​

Use Management to manage data and access:

  • Import asset and condition data from GIS or CSV files, with field mapping and validation.

  • Merge adjoining Sections into Super-Section Layers so Treatment schemes can span Section boundaries.

  • Configure user groups for fine-grained permissions.

  • View the history of data exports.

Administrators and data managers responsible for keeping the database updated.
