Imagery

See video imagery and surface scans

Some survey types provide video imagery and high-res scans of road surfaces, e.g. SCANNER. These can be imported into Horizons, giving you the ability to look around the area and see what's going on. Save time by reviewing sites from your desk and perform tasks like measuring assets and projecting data onto the imagery.

Video content must meet specific requirements to be suitable for use in Horizons. Therefore, it must be imported into your project by a Causeway team member. For further details, please contact Causeway Support.

Once the video data is imported, you can view and interact with it in two ways.

In the Explorer module

As you navigate the map area in Explorer, you can display a video thumbnail in the top-right corner. This gives you basic controls and lets you get an idea of what imagery data is available and your current position. See Viewing Imagery in Explorer.

In the Imaging module

To see things in more detail, you can open the fullscreen Imaging module. In this view, you can play the video at full resolution and access additional functionality, such as viewing Section information, measuring asset dimensions, adjusting brightness/contrast and downloading images. You can also overlay Layer data on top of the imagery! See Using the Imaging module.

Import images

It's also possible to use standard images in Horizons. These can be included when importing data. See Importing images and links.
